We are proud to honor our H.E.A.R. Board of Director Dr. Jerome Goldstein.
We value his participation with our organization and his sage advice.
Dr. Goldstein received his AB from University of Rochester and his MD
from Sate University of New York (Syracuse). He interned at Philadelphia
General Hospital (1963-64) and received residency training in surgery
and otolaryngology at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and State University
of New York at Syracuse (1964-68).
He served as Executive Vice President of the American Academy of Otolaryngology
- Head and Neck Surgery from 1984-1994; Senior Executive Vice President
from 1995-1996; and Executive Vice President Emeritus from 1996-1999.
The 11,000 member American Academy of Otolaryngology is the national society
of physicians who treat medical and surgical disorders of the ears, nose,
and throat, and related areas of the head and neck. He also serves as
visiting professor in the Departments of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and
Neck Surgery at Georgetown and John Hopkins Univerisies. He is a director
of American Board of Otolaryngology and the Deafness Reserach Foundation,
Regional Secretary of north America for the international Federation of
Otorhinolaryngological societies, and President-Elect of the Pan Pacific
Surgical Association.
From 1974 to 1983, he was Professor of Surgery and Head of the Division
of Otolarngology at Albany Medical College. The three preceding years
Dr. Goldstein was in the private practice of otolaryngology in Glens Falls,
NY and from 1968-1971 was assistant professor of ORL at Northwestern University
Medical School in Chicago.
Dr. Goldstein has been an active member of numerous medical societies.
He is currently a member of the American College of Surgeons Advisory
Council on Otorhinolaryngology. He served as the American Acaademy of
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Alternate Delegate to the American
Medical Association for many years, and now is the AMA Delgate for the
Triological Society. HE is past president of the American Society for
HEad and Neck Surgery (1983), Centurions of the Deafness Research Foundation
(1988) , and the Council for Medical Specialty Societies (1996).
He has published and lectured extensively on otolaryngic topics and serves
on numerous editorial and advisory boards. He resides in Lake Worth, Florida
with his wife, Rochelle.
