H.E.A.R. is rallying its resources in a concerted effort
to raise awareness among undergraduates. H.E.A.R. joined forces
with educational publisher It's About Time, bundling a H.E.A.R.
awareness video " Can't
Hear You Knocking" (Flyner Films 1990) with AP's physics
text books. Active Physics is distributed to over 20,000 high
schools nationwide. The Active Physics curriculum textbook
s chapter on hearing loss and loud music entitled Medicine,
edited by Dr. Arthur Eisenkraft, developed in association
with American Association of Physics Teachers, The American
Institute of Physics and funded by the National Science Foundation
is the first high school curriculum textbook that deals with
the real issue of noise induced hearing loss facing America's
youth.
Active Physics curriculum textbook bundled with "Cant
Hear You Knocking", video was presented at the American
Association of Physics Teachers Conference. Kathy Peck, Executive
Director of H.E.A.R. says, " H.E.A.R. is honored to be
the first hearing health nonprofit organization to have a
national impact in highschools working with Active Physics
textbook program and the high school districts of America
on these important issues."
