Artist of the Month, July 1997
KillingCulture
Forget the long, permed Aquanet fire-hazard hair "Rock" music
of the 80's. KILLINGCULTURE, the L.A. based heavy metal band, produced
by Anthax's Scott Ian, jumps down the listeners throat with high pressure,
ear drum shattering (although not if you wear your earplugs), headbanging
music. HEARNET is pleased to announce KILLINGCULTURE as the Artist of
the Month for June.
KILLINGCULTURE's quartet is one of those rare bands where a lot of chemistry
consists between its members, frontman vocalist Marcus Peyton, riffman-guitar
player Scott Sargeant, bludgeoning-bass player Paul Pulgiz and backbone-thrash
drummer Pat Magrath. Producer, Scott Ian, guests rhythmically on a couple
of cuts from the album.
The band recently returned from Europe, where they were met with an overwhelming
response as a part of the "Full of Hate Easter Festivals" tour
with Obituary, Crowbar, Entombed, Samael, and Strapping Young Lad.
Check out the boot-stomping, metal-crunching, tons of angry attitude
album. Pull out your rusty old air guitar and start with the track titled
"Live". KILLINGCULTURE's self-titled debut album was released
in March on Edel America Records (E.A.R.), and it is available in stores
nationwide.
H.E.A.R. would like to extend its sincerest congratulations to the group
and the success they've held so far - keep on rockin', lads!!!!!! For
more information on the group write to KILLINGCULTURE, c/o Edel America
Records, 729 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019.
