Noise Pop and H.E.A.R. join forces!
MUSIC PROFESSIONALS RECEIVE HEARING HEALTH ASSISTANCE AT NOISE POP
Noise Pop and H.E.A.R. launch efforts to help musicians, music fans and other music professionals protect their hearing health at the 2009 Noise Pop.
San Francisco, CA – February 27, 2009 – In effort to help musicians, music fans, sound engineers, and other music professionals protect their hearing health, Noise Pop www.noisepop.com and H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers, Inc.) www.hearnet.com are working together at the 2009 Noise Pop conference to provide free earplugs and educational information for attendees.
Kathy Peck, Co-founder and Executive Director of H.E.A.R. will be on hand at "Industry Noise" to provide hearing health service referrals, free earplugs and educational information for attendees. Kathy has stated: "H.E.A.R. is excited to unite with Noise Pop to help educate musicians, music fans and other music professionals about their hearing. Protecting your hearing can protect your music career." H.E.A.R. is also providing free earplugs for other Noise Pop events.
Industry Noise, a one-day conference taking place on Friday February 27th all day at the Swedish American Hall 2174 Market Street, San Francisco. Registration opens 9 am. The conference will look at independent music, technology, and the transforming industry. There will be a keynote with Fat Mike (NOFX, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes) who runs one of the most successful independent labels of all time, Fat Wreck Chords. The afternoon keynote conversation features two of independent music’s most enduring personalities: Lou Barlow (Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, Folk Implosion) and Bob Mould (Hüsker Dü, Sugar) in a conversation that will touch upon the changing industry, including technology’s effects on the way they pursue their careers, interact with fans, and approach their craft.
