Great Music Memorabilia & Pro Audio Gear Benefits Hearing Health & Education

October 3, 2005, San Francisco. In conjunction with the prestigious 21st Annual TEC Awards set for October 8 in New York City during the 119th AES Convention, the Mix Foundation announces the 2nd Annual TEC Awards Music and Sound Auction on eBay, running Oct 3 to Oct 16. The online eBay auction will be managed by H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers (http://www.hearnet.com/) a nonprofit dedicated to informing musicians and the public about the prevention of hearing impairment in the music environment. Proceeds will benefit H.E.A.R., as well as the Sound Partners campaign of the House Ear Institute (http://www.hei.org/) in Los Angeles, a hearing conservation program co-founded by the Mix Foundation (http://www.mixfoundation.com) and the House Ear Institute.

Music and Sound Auction items will include the top music and sound manufacturers' new products, autographed musical instruments and treasured music memorabilia, all going to help the number one hidden health hazard: hearing loss.

Benefit Auction for Legendary San Francisco Promoter has been Extended through August 21 due to Overwhelming Response from Music Community

August 5, 2005, San Francisco. Your help is greatly needed to help spread the word about the Chet Helms Memorial Auction, which was kicked-off with the year's most coveted ticket: the All-Star Chetfest Benefit Concert on Friday July 29th 2005 at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. ABOUT CHET HELMS
Chet Helms, who passed-away in June, was the leader of the legendary Family Dog production company of San Francisco. Known as the "Father of the Summer of Love," Chet's nurturing of the San Francisco music scene with events at the Avalon Ballroom and the Fillmore Auditorium in the 1960's influenced a generation of musicians and fans and paved the way for the success of Bill Graham and other promoters at venues across the country and around the world.

As manager of Big Brother and the Holding Company, Chet Helms persuaded childhood friend Janis Joplin to hitchhike with him from Texas to San Francisco to join the group.
