About H.E.A.R. and The National Campaign for Hearing Health
Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers
and Ravers
(H.E.A.R.) is a non-profit
organization dedicated to raising awareness of the real dangers
of repeated exposure to excessive noise levels, which can
lead to permanent, and sometimes debilitating, hearing loss
and tinnitus. Damage from dangerous decibel levels can occur
from playing music, attending concerts, dance clubs, raves,
unsafe use of stereo earphones, playing amplified systems
too loudly, or other noisy activities. H.E.A.R. is here for
musicians, DJs, sound engineers, music fans (especially teens)
and anyone needing help with their hearing. Sign
Up! for the H.E.A.R. Street Team and download our Free
H.E.A.R. FAQs flyer.
The National Campaign for Hearing Health
(NCHH) is sponsored
by the Deafness Research Foundation (DRF), the largest private
funder of hearing research in the United States. Founded in
1958, DRF's mission is to make a lifetime of hearing possible
through quality research, education and advocacy. DRF affiliated
doctors (primarily otologists and otolaryngologists) are the
top experts in the world and represent all major hearing hospitals
and clinics. For more information on NCHH go to www.hearinghealth.net.
